Don’t Judge Other People’s Marriages

Looks are deceiving. We're not classy.

Yes, I tried to run over my husband with a rental car during our honeymoon. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like him.

Yes, romantic movies like The Notebook make the two of us want to barf. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have our own Great Love Story.

Yes, it’s been 4 years since we’ve given each other gifts on birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries, or Valentine’s Day. (We have our reasons.) But that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten that our life together is a precious gift.

And it’s true, we have absolutely nothing in common. But that doesn’t mean we’re not on the same page.

The point is, you never truly understand what’s happening in a marriage based on what you see from the outside. We all love differently. Happy relationships come in all shapes and sizes.

So please, don’t judge. I’d hate to have to drop-kick you in the throat.

Your Turn: Has anyone ever misjudged your marriage or relationship?

Nancy and I lie in bed late at night asleep and dream about you and Steph telling us we have to go to the bathroom until we wake up and go (reference my response to your next post). Needless to say we won’t judge your marriage or Brian’s and Amish’s LOL.

It’s not a dream, I actually have a voodoo doll of you by my bedside and I pour water on its crotch in the middle of the night. (Mwahahaha…)

Thanks for not judging our marriage– you’re too tall for me to drop kick you in the throat. And honestly, I’m just striving to make it as healthy as Brian’s “other marriage”!

  3. Steph says:

Lmao! Yes the Amish one and I have had our own late night talks about that very topic, and how somehow it just works for each of us as couples. Also woot woot that your classy photo is of the two of you at our wedding :)

    • Kimberly says:

OMG, you talk about us late at night while in bed??? We’re flattered! But mostly we’re relieved because sometimes we talk about you guys while in bed. (Umm…okay, this is getting weird now.)

  4. Steph says:

Yes, I’m in love with this post. And that DOES mean that you have an awesome point. :)

    • Kimberly says:

Actually! You and Amish helped inspire this post because you guys interact with each other (and show affection) so differently from how Brian and I do.
